Balance sheet – n : finance/accounting term; a
financial statement that delineates a business’s assets, liabilities, and
shareholders’ equity. This can be thought of as the statement of the net worth
of a business. A business’s assets minus its liabilities equal its
shareholders’ equity (i.e., net worth).
