Professional Summary
I am a graduate of MIT ('00) with a degree in Biology wih a minor in Biomedical Engineering. Currently, I am a 5th year graduate student in the department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University in New York. Working in the laboratory of Prof. Carol Prives, my research interests span the biochemical, cell, and molecular aspects of oncology. In particular, we investigate the role of the tumor suppressor p53 in oncogenesis, with my specific focus being on its mechanism of action as a transcription factor and specifically how p53 recognizes various DNA sequence targets.
