Company Description:
We are a newly founded radio station that operates inside the salvation army in harlem New York. We are heard via the internet by over 935 million people and can be heard on Saturdays for two hours on the FM frequency through our sister station 90.3 fm WHCR. Our target audience is primarily to attract listeners between the ages of 21 to 65 who range from communities such as the African Americans, Caribbeans, Latinos, Africans living worldwide and in New York City as well as non africans. Our programming is engaging in these aspects and strive to showcase the many positive and profound accomplishments of people of color nationally and abroad. We place emphasis on creating a colorful and culturally enriched environment to our listeners about African identity which is portrayed in the melodic jazz like african beats and rhythms, reggae, soca and dancehall as well as tropical easy tunes. We showcase a variety of programming that reflects through the following genres: gospel, eclectic music fusions [african, caribbean, latino, jazz, hiphop, mix, kwaito(south african hiphop)], to politics, news and discussions on socio economic issues in the urban community that is affect the black communities nationally and internationally. Our message is simple, we aim to bring awareness to the cultural and diverse presence that the black community offers to the world. Although our demographic is roughly between the ages of 21 to 65, of unisex gender in the New York City area, within the USA or internationally. We still welcome listeners who are 12 to 20 years of age. We have programming that helps teens to cope with their social lifestyles and hygiene etc. Our message also targets those working blue and white collar jobs in the middle to upper middle class groups who are graduates. We are heard by people in the following nations: USA, UK, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Africa and Russia as well as the caribbean and south America. We are seeking funding to upgrade the equipment at our radio station and also free office space for us to launch into a bigger and better company. Many of the staff here are dedicated hard working people who have put their effort and sweat into this project not for money but for the passion of doing it.
