Along the way I get asked to do a lot of Advisory Board work since we spend so much time helping startup companies grow.

My attempt to help every last company is why I built Go BIG. Beyond that, I wish I had more time to personally work with companies but time is something no entrepreneur has much of.

I usually manage about a half dozen Advisory Board positions per year, some paid, some not paid. The work I do for the for-profits pretty much pays for the work that I do for the not-for-profits.

The only positions I'm looking at right now are paid, for-profit Advisory Boards. I've got a list a mile long of non-profits that I want to help, so I'm not seeking out any new ones.

For the paid positions I only do full-cash deals (no stock), and based on the time commitment my rates start at $12,000 per year, which aren't exactly McKinsey rates, but then again I'm not that bright.
